You always worry when they are in the NICU, but love the little guy and I’m sure everything will be fine in the end. November 18, 2017 aygomyownroad Go on Levi!!! November 18, 2017 NebraCC This’ll be the best story when he’s a toddler *You were premature, but the doctors put glowing things on your hands and a cool mask on you so you survived* November 18, 2017 Deferet My daughter was born at 25 weeks, and now at almost 2yr old she’s got attitude to fill a room. Preemie’s are fighters and they will let you know it! November 18, 2017 highglove Go get ’em buddy! November 18, 2017 bibbalicious Seems like an upvote is the equivalent of ‘thoughts and prayers’ but having been in a similar situation, different country, I’ll think of little Levi and wish you all the best. November 18, 2017 kaioken-doll Chin up buddy, my sister was born around 24 weeks, doctors said she’d never make it, but she did and she just bought her first house. Best of luck, there’s always hope. November 18, 2017 tydyedsyko I posted this before but it applies here, preemies are a lot stronger than you think, here’s wishing your family a very bright future!! I can defiantly relate. My daughter was born at 24 weeks 3 days weighing 1 lb 9 oz. Her lungs collapsed the first night. She spent 5 months in the NICU but the hospital was only a 10 min drive from my house. She is now 3 years old. She has never and still doesn’t eat anything by mouth but I feed her through a g-tube connected to a mickey button implanted in her stomach every few hours. Besides that she is perfectly normal and the happiest toddler you’ll ever meet. She is the strongest person I’ve ever known and my inspiration through any tough times that may come. It always almost brings me to tears when she comes up to me and starts singing Green Day’s Brainstew =). I used to sing that to her when I had to wake up every three hours during the night to feed her. “I’m having trouble trying to sleep” dunuh … dunuh dunuh dunuh November 18, 2017 circleofwomen My daughter was born at 32 weeks because I had preeeclampsia. The one thing that got me through our time in the NICU was seeing the photo wall of so many kids, of a variety of ages, that had been preemies. There is light at the end of the tunnel! My daughter is now 5 and bigger than all the girls in her kindergarten class. Levi will be home soon! Much love! November 18, 2017 nykzhang Stay strong! My sister had her baby stay for 67 days in an incubator after she was born and it was not easy for them. Her daughter is now almost 1yo, strong and beautiful. Good luck! November 18, 2017 toddevan09 Best of luck, looks like the first week was pretty nerve racking November 18, 2017 AuroraHalsey I’m amazed. I didn’t know humans could be viable at such a young age. November 18, 2017 Failscout I was a preemie, but nowhere NEAR so young (8 months, so I had an okay stint really). November 18, 2017 maddddiebear What a little cutie omg ??sending love November 18, 2017 Frolo14 This might be a weird question, but what do premature babies eat? Can they survive with just the mother’s milk or do they get some kind of cocktail of extra nutrients? November 18, 2017 Jefferin000 Be strong for him and and your wife and he’ll be strong for himself. November 18, 2017 Ethenolic Superhero in the making. November 18, 2017 YouNiqueUser Makes me want to cry seeing this. Clearly Levi will pull through and be a linebacker, just scares me. Girlfriend is about 5 months pregnant and the baby is way low, like she is already feeling pains that she felt with her first baby at nine months and four days. I was born two months preemie. Was in the NICU for six weeks, and my parents didn’t get to hold me til I was two weeks old, at which point I could fit in the palm of my dad’s hand. My mom jokes that I’m her quarter-of-a-million-dollar baby (insurance covered most of the expenses but it really was that much, even back then). I’m now almost 28 years old, happy and completely healthy, married, and a teacher. There is so much hope. ❤️ November 18, 2017 bionicfeetgrl So he’s started Jedi training earlier than most…. November 18, 2017 Datsumshitrightder Your son is a badass. Can’t wait to see pics of him sitting up. November 18, 2017 clovencarrot I’ve been down this road with friends and heard countless stories from my L&D nurse Wife. You can do this! Good luck, and know there’s one more internet stranger rooting for Levi. November 18, 2017 tavernau I was a wee preemie too. Xo November 18, 2017 clearier Keep on trucking, it will get better every week! Our Girl was bornWas born early as well, she is too now and the size of a four-year-old. ((Big hugs To Mom and Dad too)) November 18, 2017 wesellis Congrats dad… He looks like a badass. November 18, 2017 ksugunslinger Both of our kids were born way early, between 23 and 25 weeks. November 18, 2017 TraumaTuna Your son is gonna make it his second week, then his third week, then his fourth week, then his second month, then his first quarter. Your son is gonna make it. November 18, 2017 AlterEgoVerucaSalt I still have my twin preemie’s “glasses”, the tiny diapers, the blankets, hats and all the tiny electrode stuff they put on them. Down to the tiny heart monitor they put on the feet. I have it all saved and tucked away so I can show them when they get older. Mine were born at 27 weeks with Twin to Twin transfusion but are now 10 years old and besides the cocky attitudes, are damn healthy. Modern medicine is amazing and this little baby will be running around in no time! Keep your head up and keep letting him know you are there for him ALWAYS. Big hugs to you, mama!! November 18, 2017 MagikBiscuit Hmm can’t find any comment asking for an ELI5 of the equipment? What’s the helmet for? And what are the purple lights? I have educated guesses but… Edit: Forgot to say I’m so happy for you! Medical advances never seize to amaze 🙂 November 18, 2017 DiningRoomSet Based on the black head gear and red glowing lights, pretty safe bet that he’ll be more Sith than Jedi. I sincerely hope all is well with your baby boy. All my prayers and wishes to you and your family. Hope to hear an update sometime. November 18, 2017 Renavan I find medical science in the developed world absolutely incredible. I’m a medical student, and here we’re taught that the age of viability is 28 weeks. We’ve been told that in the West, it gets lower, but I’d never have thought as low as 23. November 18, 2017 ohboy174 Born fighter!!! Prayers up for Levi. November 18, 2017 nuriambia i will pray for baby must be ok as soon as possible November 18, 2017 severusquim My daughter was a premmie. Born at 28 weeks and weighing in at 1lb 8oz. It was a frightening time when she was born, seeing the tubes and wires but she pulled through. November 18, 2017 doesavocadoitdoes I have a feeling he is going to be just fine. Congrats. November 18, 2017 o_Othatweirdo My sister had twins at 24 weeks so I know how rough it can be. Sadly one didn’t make it (we lost her after just 5 weeks) but the other is now about to start high school and to see her now, you never would guess that she was a premmie. Absolutely stunning, strong, tall, smart and just a beautiful soul. 5 years later my sister had another child born around 25 weeks. She is now 3 and what a fiery little fighter she is! Although the whole ordeal has been quite tough on the family, as it must be for yourselves aswell, I can tell you it gets better. The early days of just waiting and watching are always the hardest.
